Ketamine Therapy

Healing the Mind. Restoring Hope. Creating New Possibilities.

Mental health conditions and chronic pain can affect every aspect of life. Depression, anxiety, trauma, and persistent pain influence not only how we think and feel, but also our relationships, physical health, motivation, sleep, and ability to experience joy and purpose.

While conventional treatments provide meaningful benefit for many people, others continue to struggle despite sincere effort and appropriate medical care.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we believe healing begins by recognizing that the mind, body, and spirit are deeply interconnected. Ketamine therapy represents one of the most exciting advances in modern medicine because it offers the possibility of helping the brain recover in ways that were not fully appreciated just a generation ago.

We do not view ketamine as a miracle treatment or a treatment of last resort. Rather, we view it as one powerful tool within a comprehensive, physician-guided strategy designed to promote healing, resilience, and long-term wellness.

Understanding Ketamine Therapy

Ketamine has been used safely in medicine for more than fifty years as an anesthetic. At significantly lower doses, researchers have discovered that it can rapidly influence neural pathways involved in mood regulation, emotional processing, chronic pain, learning, memory, and neuroplasticity.

Unlike many traditional antidepressant medications—which often require four to eight weeks, and sometimes even longer, before their full therapeutic effects become apparent—ketamine may begin producing meaningful improvement within hours to several days for appropriately selected patients. While every individual's response is unique, this rapid onset is one of the reasons ketamine has become one of the most important developments in modern psychiatry.

Researchers believe ketamine works through mechanisms fundamentally different from conventional antidepressants. Rather than simply increasing neurotransmitters such as serotonin, ketamine appears to temporarily stimulate glutamate signaling, leading to a cascade of biological events that encourage the brain to form new neural connections.

One of the most important discoveries has been ketamine's ability to increase production of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF)—a naturally occurring protein sometimes described as "fertilizer for the brain." BDNF supports the growth, repair, survival, and communication of neurons, helping the brain strengthen existing pathways while forming new ones.

Emerging research also suggests ketamine may influence additional regenerative pathways, including those involving Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) and other neurotrophic proteins that support neuronal health, learning, memory, and recovery. Although these mechanisms continue to be studied, they help explain why ketamine may do more than temporarily improve symptoms—it may help create an environment that supports meaningful neurological recovery.

For that reason, we view ketamine therapy not simply as administering a medication, but as creating an opportunity for the brain to become more adaptable, more resilient, and more receptive to positive change.

Conditions That May Benefit From Ketamine Therapy

After a comprehensive medical evaluation, ketamine therapy may be considered for carefully selected patients experiencing:

●     Treatment-resistant depression

●     Major depressive disorder

●     Anxiety disorders

●     Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

●     Chronic neuropathic pain

●     Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)

●     Fibromyalgia

●     Other chronic pain conditions when clinically appropriate

Not every patient is an appropriate candidate, and every recommendation is individualized.

Our Philosophy

Ketamine does not create healing.

It creates opportunity.

Many researchers describe ketamine as opening a temporary window of enhanced neuroplasticity—a period during which the brain may be more capable of forming healthier patterns of thought, emotion, learning, and behavior.

What patients do during that window often determines the lasting impact of treatment.

For that reason, we encourage every patient to pair ketamine therapy with the practices that support long-term recovery, including restorative sleep, regular physical activity, nutritious food, healthy relationships, counseling or psychotherapy when appropriate, mindfulness practices, and intentional lifestyle change.

Our goal extends beyond symptom relief.

Our goal is to help patients build healthier, more resilient lives.

Our Treatment Process

Patient safety is our highest priority.  Before treatment begins, every patient undergoes a comprehensive medical evaluation, medication review, and informed consent discussion to determine whether ketamine therapy is appropriate.

Treatments are administered in a calm, comfortable clinical environment under continuous medical supervision. Throughout the infusion, patients are carefully monitored to ensure both physical safety and emotional comfort.

Following treatment, patients remain under observation until they meet established discharge criteria and are medically stable to return home. When appropriate, patients must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Potential Benefits

Depending upon the individual and the condition being treated, ketamine therapy may help support:

●     Improvement in depressive symptoms

●     Reduction in anxiety

●     Relief of chronic pain

●     Enhanced emotional resilience

●     Improved mental clarity

●     Increased cognitive flexibility

●     Enhanced neuroplasticity

●     Greater engagement in psychotherapy

●     Improved overall quality of life

Responses vary from person to person, and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.

Potential Risks & Side Effects

Like every medical treatment, ketamine therapy carries potential risks.

Temporary side effects may include:

●     Elevated blood pressure

●     Increased heart rate

●     Nausea

●     Dizziness

●     Blurred vision

●     Dissociation

●     Altered sensory perception

●     Fatigue following treatment

These effects are generally temporary and resolve as the medication wears off. Patients are continuously monitored throughout treatment to maximize both safety and comfort.

Why We Don't Recommend Ketamine for Everyone

Ketamine is a powerful medical therapy that requires thoughtful patient selection.

Certain medical conditions, psychiatric conditions, or medications may make ketamine inappropriate or require additional precautions.

Our responsibility is not simply to determine who can receive ketamine therapy.

Our responsibility is to determine who is most likely to benefit while maintaining the highest standards of safety, ethics, and individualized medical care.

Sometimes the best medical recommendation is to pursue a different treatment strategy.

How Ketamine May Support Brain Healing

Ketamine's effects extend beyond temporary symptom relief. Current research suggests it may initiate a cascade of biological events that supports the brain's natural ability to adapt and recover.

Chronic Stress, Depression, Trauma, or Chronic Pain

Reduced neural connectivity

Ketamine Therapy

Enhanced glutamate signaling

Increased production of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) and other neurotrophic proteins, including pathways involving Nerve Growth Factor (NGF)

Enhanced neuroplasticity

Formation and strengthening of healthier neural connections

Greater opportunity for healing through psychotherapy, healthy lifestyle habits, restorative sleep, meaningful relationships, and continued physician-guided care

Your Treatment Plan Is Unique

No two patients share the same experiences, medical history, goals, or path toward healing.

Treatment recommendations are based on your symptoms, diagnosis, medical history, medications, physical examination, and a thoughtful discussion regarding the potential benefits, limitations, and risks of therapy.

Our objective is never to fit patients into a standardized protocol.

Our objective is to build a treatment plan that reflects you.

Our Commitment to Responsible Innovation

Ketamine therapy represents one of the most significant advances in mental health treatment in recent decades.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we remain committed to balancing scientific innovation with thoughtful clinical judgment, compassionate patient care, and evidence-informed medicine.

We believe every patient deserves honest conversations, realistic expectations, individualized recommendations, and a physician who is committed not only to today's treatment, but to your long-term well-being.

Looking Beyond the Infusion

Healing rarely comes from a single medication.

The greatest value of ketamine therapy may be the opportunity it creates to establish healthier patterns of thinking, healthier habits, stronger relationships, deeper resilience, and renewed purpose.

Our hope is that each treatment serves as one step toward a healthier mind, a healthier body, and a more fulfilling life.

Because the ultimate goal is not simply to feel better after an infusion.

The ultimate goal is to become healthier because of what you choose to do with the opportunity that infusion creates.

Metabolic Health & Weight Management

Build a Healthier Metabolism. Create Lasting Change.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we believe successful weight management is about far more than the number on the scale. Our goal is to improve metabolic health, preserve lean muscle mass, increase energy, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and help you build sustainable habits that support lifelong wellness.

Every treatment plan begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your medical history, lifestyle, current medications, laboratory findings, and personal goals. Nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, and sustainable behavior change remain the foundation of long-term success. When appropriate, medications and adjunctive therapies can provide additional support and improve outcomes.

Whenever possible, treatment plans are designed to promote fat loss while preserving lean muscle mass, supporting long-term metabolic health, and improving overall quality of life.

Hormone Health & Optimization

Restore Balance. Improve Vitality. Feel Like Yourself Again.

Hormones influence nearly every aspect of health, including energy, mood, mental clarity, sleep, body composition, libido, bone health, cardiovascular health, and overall well-being. As hormone levels naturally change with age—or are affected by illness, stress, medications, or other medical conditions—many people experience symptoms that are often dismissed as simply "getting older."

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we believe those changes deserve thoughtful evaluation rather than assumptions. Our goal is not simply to prescribe hormones, but to understand the underlying causes of your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your long-term health.

Treatment begins with a comprehensive review of your medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, current medications, and laboratory findings. When clinically appropriate, hormone therapy and other supportive treatments may help restore balance, improve quality of life, and optimize overall health.

Hormone Optimization for Men

Many men experience gradual changes in energy, recovery, strength, body composition, motivation, concentration, sexual health, and overall vitality as they age. While declining testosterone is one possible contributor, it is only one piece of a much larger picture.

Our approach is comprehensive, addressing hormone balance, lifestyle factors, nutrition, sleep quality, metabolic health, and overall wellness before recommending a treatment plan.

Testosterone Optimization

●      Testosterone Cypionate

●      Enclomiphene

●      Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG)

●      Anastrozole (when clinically indicated)

Advanced Hormonal Support

In carefully selected patients, additional therapies may be considered when clinically appropriate.

Examples may include:

●      Nandrolone

●      DHT-derived therapies

These therapies are reserved for specific clinical situations and are recommended only after a comprehensive physician evaluation.

Hormone Optimization for Women

Hormonal changes can occur during perimenopause, menopause, after pregnancy, following certain medical conditions, or for a variety of other reasons. Symptoms may include fatigue, changes in mood, difficulty sleeping, decreased libido, hot flashes, changes in body composition, reduced exercise recovery, and diminished overall well-being.

Every woman's experience is unique. Our goal is to identify the factors contributing to your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment strategy that aligns with your health goals.

Therapies Currently Offered

●      Estradiol

●      Progesterone

●      Testosterone (when clinically appropriate)

●      DHEA

●      Pregnenolone

Recommendations are individualized based on symptoms, laboratory findings, personal goals, and a comprehensive medical evaluation.

Your Treatment Plan Is Unique

No two patients are exactly alike.

Recommendations are based on your symptoms, medical history, physical examination, laboratory findings, personal goals, and an informed discussion with your physician. Not every therapy is appropriate for every patient, and treatment plans are designed to prioritize safety, effectiveness, and long-term health.

Why We Don't Treat Lab Values Alone

Laboratory testing is an important part of hormone evaluation, but it is only one piece of the overall picture. At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, treatment recommendations are based on the combination of your symptoms, medical history, physical examination, laboratory findings, lifestyle, and personal health goals.

Our objective is not simply to achieve a target laboratory value, but to help you feel better, function better, and improve your long-term health while maintaining the highest standards of safety and evidence-informed medical care.

Peptide Therapy

Supporting the Body's Natural Ability to Heal, Recover, and Thrive

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as biological messengers throughout the body. You can think of them as tiny communication signals that help coordinate normal processes such as tissue repair, metabolism, immune function, hormone signaling, cognitive performance, and healthy aging.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we view peptide therapy as one component of a comprehensive wellness strategy—not a shortcut or miracle treatment. When used thoughtfully and in the appropriate clinical setting, peptides may complement nutrition, exercise, restorative sleep, hormone optimization, stress management, and other evidence-informed therapies to help patients achieve their health goals.

Every recommendation begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your medical history, symptoms, laboratory findings, lifestyle, and long-term objectives. Because different peptides influence different biological pathways, treatment plans are carefully individualized rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Growth Hormone Optimization

Growth hormone production naturally declines with age and plays an important role in body composition, recovery, exercise performance, sleep quality, metabolism, and overall vitality. In carefully selected patients, therapies that support the body's natural production of growth hormone may help promote healthy aging and improve overall well-being.

Therapies Currently Offered

●     Tesamorelin

●     Sermorelin

●     CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin

Our goal is to encourage healthy physiologic hormone signaling whenever appropriate rather than simply replacing hormones.

Recovery & Tissue Support

Recovery is essential for maintaining an active lifestyle and supporting long-term musculoskeletal health. Certain peptides are being investigated for their potential role in tissue repair, recovery, and cellular healing. When clinically appropriate, these therapies may be incorporated into a comprehensive treatment plan.

Therapies Currently Offered

●      BPC-157

●      GHK-Cu

●      Thymosin Beta-4 (when clinically available and appropriate)

Treatment recommendations are individualized based on your medical history, current condition, treatment goals, and the available scientific evidence.

Immune Health & Cellular Resilience

A healthy immune system plays an essential role in healing, resilience, and overall wellness. Certain peptides may help support normal immune function and healthy inflammatory responses in appropriately selected patients.

Therapies Currently Offered

●     Thymosin Alpha-1

Recommendations are individualized according to your overall health, medical history, and clinical goals.

Emerging & Advanced Peptide Therapies

Medical science continues to discover new peptide therapies with potential applications in metabolic health, cognitive performance, recovery, longevity, and healthy aging.

As new therapies become supported by high-quality scientific evidence and appropriate regulatory standards, Mind Body Spirit Medicine will thoughtfully evaluate whether they belong in our practice.

Our commitment is not to offer every new peptide that reaches the market. Our commitment is to offer therapies that demonstrate meaningful clinical value while maintaining the highest standards of safety, ethics, and evidence-informed medical care.

Why We Don't Recommend Every Peptide

Peptides are powerful biological signaling molecules—not nutritional supplements.

Although many peptides show exciting therapeutic potential, the strength of the scientific evidence varies considerably. Some therapies are supported by robust clinical research, while others continue to be investigated.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we carefully evaluate the available evidence, your medical history, your current health, and your personal goals before recommending peptide therapy.

Our philosophy is simple:  The right therapy for the right patient at the right time.

Rather than following trends, we focus on therapies that we believe have a meaningful role within a comprehensive, physician-guided treatment plan.

Your Treatment Plan Is Unique

No two patients have identical health goals, medical histories, or biological needs.

Recommendations are based on your symptoms, medical history, physical examination, laboratory findings, lifestyle, and long-term objectives. Not every peptide is appropriate for every patient, and treatment plans are designed to prioritize safety, effectiveness, and sustainable long-term health.

Our Commitment to Evidence-Informed Care

Innovation is one of the most exciting aspects of modern medicine, but innovation should always be balanced with thoughtful clinical judgment.

Our goal is not simply to offer the newest therapies. Our goal is to help you make informed decisions using the best scientific evidence, personalized medical care, and a comprehensive approach that supports your long-term health and quality of life.

Longevity

Living Longer Is Only Part of the Goal. Living Better Is the Mission.

Longevity is about far more than increasing lifespan. It is about preserving the health, vitality, independence, and purpose that allow you to enjoy life for as many years as possible.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we believe that the true measure of successful aging is not simply how long you live, but how well you live. Our focus is on maximizing healthspan—the years of life spent physically active, mentally sharp, emotionally resilient, and fully engaged in the people and experiences that matter most to you.

Healthy aging does not happen by accident. It is the result of thousands of daily decisions combined with thoughtful medical care, early identification of risk factors, and personalized strategies designed to support your body's natural ability to maintain health over time.

Rather than waiting for disease to develop, our philosophy is to identify opportunities for improvement before symptoms become illness. Prevention, optimization, and education form the foundation of every longevity program we design.

Our Philosophy of Healthy Aging

Longevity is not created by a single medication, supplement, laboratory test, or procedure.

It is built through the interaction of many different systems working together.

Our approach considers the entire person, including:

●      Metabolic health

●      Cardiovascular health

●      Brain health and cognitive performance

●      Musculoskeletal strength and mobility

●      Hormonal balance

●      Nutrition

●      Physical activity

●      Sleep quality

●      Stress resilience

●      Emotional well-being

●      Purpose and meaningful relationships

Each of these contributes not only to lifespan, but to healthspan—the ability to remain active, independent, and fulfilled throughout life.

Our Personalized Approach to Longevity

Every patient has different genetics, medical history, goals, and priorities.

For that reason, every longevity plan is individualized.

Your personalized program may include:

Lifestyle Optimization

Nutrition, exercise, restorative sleep, stress management, and sustainable lifestyle habits remain the foundation of long-term health.

Advanced Laboratory Evaluation

Comprehensive laboratory testing may help identify nutritional deficiencies, metabolic dysfunction, hormonal changes, cardiovascular risk factors, and other opportunities for early intervention before symptoms develop.

Hormone Health & Optimization

When clinically appropriate, optimizing hormone health may support energy, cognition, body composition, bone health, exercise recovery, and overall quality of life.

Peptide Therapy

Selected peptide therapies may complement a comprehensive wellness program by supporting healthy aging, tissue recovery, metabolic health, body composition, and other individualized treatment goals.

IV Nutrient Therapy

Intravenous nutrient therapy may be recommended for carefully selected patients when clinically appropriate to support recovery, nutrient replacement, and overall wellness.

Personalized Nutritional Supplementation

Our longevity program may help optimize:

●      Healthy aging

●      Cognitive performance

●      Energy and vitality

●      Healthy body composition

●      Exercise recovery

●      Cardiovascular wellness

●      Metabolic health

●      Bone health

●      Immune resilience

●      Cellular health

●      Overall quality of life

Why Prevention Matters

Many chronic diseases begin years—or even decades—before symptoms become noticeable.

By identifying modifiable risk factors early, we have greater opportunities to improve long-term health, reduce disease risk, preserve function, and help patients maintain independence throughout life.

Our objective is not simply to extend lifespan.

Our objective is to preserve the quality of those years.

Your Longevity Plan Is Unique

No two people age in exactly the same way.

Recommendations are based on your medical history, family history, physical examination, laboratory findings, lifestyle, personal priorities, and long-term health goals.

Every treatment plan is designed to maximize long-term health while prioritizing safety, sustainability, and evidence-informed medical care.

Our Commitment to Lifelong Health

The science of longevity is advancing rapidly.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we continually evaluate emerging therapies, new research, and evolving medical evidence while remaining committed to thoughtful clinical judgment and personalized patient care.

Innovation is valuable only when it serves the patient.

Our commitment is not to recommend every new therapy that becomes available.

Our commitment is to help you make informed decisions using the best available scientific evidence, individualized medical care, and a comprehensive strategy that supports your long-term health.

Living Well Is the Ultimate Goal

Longevity is not about chasing youth.

It is not about finding a single breakthrough treatment.

And it is not about avoiding birthdays.

It is about protecting your ability to think clearly, move confidently, remain independent, enjoy meaningful relationships, pursue your purpose, and continue doing what you love for as long as possible.

Because the greatest measure of longevity is not simply the number of years you live—it is the life you are able to live within those years.

Your Treatment Journey

Your journey toward lifelong health is a partnership.

Together, we'll continually evaluate your progress, adapt your treatment plan as new evidence emerges, and make thoughtful decisions that support your long-term goals.

Our role is not simply to add years to your life.

Our role is to help you make those years your healthiest, most purposeful, and most fulfilling.

IV Nutrient Therapy

Precision Medicine Delivered Through Intravenous Therapy

Intravenous (IV) therapy allows nutrients, medications, and other therapeutic compounds to be delivered directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system and making them immediately available to the body.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we do not believe that every person needs an IV simply because it is available. Instead, we use intravenous therapy when it has a clear medical purpose and when we believe it may provide meaningful benefit as part of a personalized treatment plan.

Our goal is not simply to administer IV treatments.

Our goal is to identify the right therapy, for the right patient, at the right time.

Why IV Therapy?

Many nutrients and medications must pass through the digestive system before they can be absorbed. Gastrointestinal disorders, inflammation, previous bariatric surgery, chronic illness, certain medications, and other factors may reduce absorption or increase nutritional demands.

In selected patients, intravenous therapy allows these compounds to reach the circulation directly, providing an alternative route of administration when clinically appropriate.

IV therapy is not intended to replace healthy nutrition or lifestyle habits. Rather, it may serve as a valuable adjunct to comprehensive medical care.

Conditions That May Benefit From IV Therapy

Depending on your medical history, laboratory findings, and treatment goals, IV therapy may be considered to support:

●      Nutrient replacement

●      Recovery from illness

●      Chronic fatigue

●      Dehydration

●      Athletic recovery

●      Migraine management

●      Immune support

●      Metabolic health

●      General wellness

●      Other individualized medical conditions when clinically appropriate

Recommendations are always based on physician evaluation rather than standardized treatment menus.

Therapies Currently Offered

Your treatment plan may include one or more of the following therapies when medically appropriate:

Hydration Therapy

Intravenous fluids may help restore hydration in patients experiencing dehydration or increased fluid requirements.

Vitamin & Micronutrient Therapy

Depending upon your individual needs, treatment may include carefully selected vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients to address documented deficiencies or support overall health.

NAD⁺ Therapy

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺) plays an essential role in cellular energy production, mitochondrial function, DNA repair, and healthy aging. For selected patients, NAD⁺ therapy may be considered as part of a comprehensive longevity or wellness program.

Glutathione

Glutathione is one of the body's most important naturally occurring antioxidants. It plays a critical role in protecting cells from oxidative stress and supporting normal detoxification pathways.

Amino Acid Therapy

Specific amino acids may be recommended to support metabolism, recovery, muscle health, neurotransmitter production, and other individualized treatment goals.

Customized Physician-Directed Formulations

Some patients may benefit from personalized IV formulations designed specifically for their medical history, laboratory findings, and health objectives.

Our Philosophy

An IV bag is not a treatment plan.

It is simply a delivery method.

The true value of IV therapy lies in selecting the appropriate ingredients, determining the proper dosage, understanding the science behind each component, and integrating those therapies into a broader strategy designed specifically for you.

Our recommendations are driven by physiology—not popularity.

Safety Comes First

Every IV treatment begins with a medical evaluation.

Depending upon your health history, medications, laboratory findings, and treatment goals, additional testing may be recommended before initiating therapy.

During treatment, patients are monitored by trained medical personnel to ensure both safety and comfort. Emergency medications and equipment are immediately available should they ever become necessary.

Patient safety remains our highest priority throughout every stage of care.

Why We Don't Offer "One-Size-Fits-All" IV Bags

Many wellness clinics offer the same intravenous formulations to every patient.

We believe you deserve better.

The nutritional needs of a marathon runner differ from those of a patient recovering from illness. Likewise, someone with a documented vitamin deficiency requires a different approach than someone seeking to optimize long-term health.

Our IV therapies are selected for clinical reasons—not because they happen to be the most popular.

Your Treatment Plan Is Unique

No two patients share the same medical history, nutritional status, laboratory findings, or health goals.

Treatment recommendations are based upon your symptoms, physical examination, laboratory evaluation when appropriate, current medications, medical history, and overall health objectives.

Every recommendation is designed to maximize safety while supporting meaningful improvements in your health and quality of life.

Our Commitment to Evidence-Informed Care

Intravenous therapy continues to evolve as medical research advances.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we remain committed to evaluating emerging evidence while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity and patient safety.

Some therapies are supported by decades of clinical experience, while others continue to be actively investigated. We believe patients deserve honest discussions regarding both the potential benefits and the current limitations of available evidence.

Innovation should never replace good medical judgment.

It should strengthen it.

Looking Beyond the IV

An IV treatment is rarely the entire solution.

Long-term health is built through nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, meaningful relationships, appropriate medical care, and sustainable lifestyle choices.

When indicated, intravenous therapy may help support those efforts—but it cannot replace them.

Our goal is not to create dependence on treatments.

Our goal is to help you build a healthier body that requires fewer interventions over time.

Laboratory Services

Looking Beyond "Normal"

Laboratory testing is one of the most valuable tools in modern medicine—but it is only one piece of the larger clinical picture.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we use laboratory testing to better understand how your body is functioning, identify potential nutritional or hormonal imbalances, establish meaningful baselines, monitor treatment safely, and help guide personalized medical decisions.

Our goal is not to treat laboratory values.

Our goal is to care for the person behind those numbers.

Why Laboratory Testing Matters

Your body is constantly providing information.

Sometimes that information appears as symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, low energy, poor sleep, chronic pain, decreased exercise tolerance, digestive concerns, or changes in mood.

Other times, important changes occur long before symptoms become noticeable.

Laboratory testing helps us better understand what may be happening beneath the surface, allowing us to combine objective data with your medical history, physical examination, lifestyle, and personal goals to develop an individualized treatment plan.

Laboratory values provide important clues.

They rarely tell the entire story by themselves.

More Than "Normal"

Many patients are told their laboratory results are "normal."

That may be true.

But "normal" simply means your results fall within a statistical reference range established from a large population. It does not necessarily mean your results are optimal for your age, symptoms, medical history, or health goals.

Likewise, laboratory values that fall slightly outside a reference range do not automatically indicate disease.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we interpret laboratory results within the context of the entire patient—not as isolated numbers.

Clinical judgment always comes before algorithms.

Specialized Testing

When appropriate, we may recommend more advanced laboratory evaluation, including assessments related to genetics, cardiovascular risk, autoimmune conditions, gastrointestinal health, or other specialized areas of medicine.

Recommendations are always individualized based on your clinical situation.

Laboratory Testing and Personalized Medicine

No two patients have identical biology.

For that reason, we do not order the same laboratory panel for every individual.

Testing is selected based on your symptoms, medical history, medications, age, family history, physical examination, and health goals.

Sometimes a focused laboratory evaluation provides all the information we need.

Other times, a more comprehensive assessment is appropriate.

Our objective is to obtain meaningful information—not simply more information.

Monitoring Your Progress

Laboratory testing is not only useful at the beginning of treatment.

It also helps us monitor your progress over time.

Whether you are pursuing weight management, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, IV therapy, ketamine therapy, or longevity-focused care, repeat laboratory evaluation may help us assess your response to treatment, identify opportunities for adjustment, and ensure therapies continue to be both safe and effective.

Medicine is a process of continual learning.

Your treatment plan should evolve as your health evolves.

Our Philosophy

Good medicine begins with listening.

Laboratory testing helps us ask better questions—but it never replaces the conversation between physician and patient.

Numbers provide valuable information.

Patients provide context.

The combination of both leads to better medical decisions.

Why We Don't Chase Numbers

It can be tempting to focus on achieving a specific laboratory value.

While laboratory trends are important, our objective is never to optimize numbers for their own sake.

Instead, we strive to improve the outcomes that matter most:

●      How you feel.

●      How well you function.

●      Your energy.

●      Your resilience.

●      Your quality of sleep.

●      Your physical performance.

●      Your long-term health.

●      Your overall quality of life.

Laboratory values help guide those conversations—but they are not the destination.

Your Treatment Plan Is Unique

No two patients have identical genetics, lifestyles, medical histories, or health goals.

Your laboratory evaluation is interpreted within the context of your unique circumstances, allowing treatment recommendations to reflect who you are—not simply what your laboratory report says.

Our commitment is to combine scientific evidence, thoughtful clinical judgment, and individualized care to help you make informed decisions about your health.

Our Commitment to Evidence-Informed Medicine

Medical science continues to evolve.

New biomarkers emerge.

Our understanding of physiology expands.

Testing that once seemed revolutionary may eventually become routine, while other tests prove less useful than originally believed.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we continually evaluate emerging evidence to ensure that our recommendations remain grounded in high-quality science rather than trends or marketing.

Our responsibility is not to order the greatest number of laboratory tests.

Our responsibility is to order the right tests, for the right patient, at the right time.

Looking Beyond the Laboratory

A laboratory report cannot measure determination.

It cannot quantify purpose.

It cannot capture resilience.

And it cannot fully explain what makes each person unique.

Laboratory testing gives us valuable information about your biology.

Your experiences, values, relationships, and goals give that information meaning.

The best medical decisions happen when scientific evidence and human understanding come together.

That is the philosophy that guides every recommendation we make at Mind Body Spirit Medicine.

Sexual Wellness

Restoring Confidence, Connection, and Quality of Life

Sexual wellness is an important part of overall health, yet it remains one of the least discussed aspects of medical care.

Changes in sexual function can affect confidence, relationships, emotional well-being, self-esteem, and overall quality of life. Although these concerns are common, they should not simply be accepted as an inevitable part of aging. They deserve thoughtful evaluation, compassionate conversation, and individualized medical care.

At Mind Body Spirit Medicine, we recognize that sexual wellness reflects the health of the entire individual. Rather than focusing on a single symptom, we seek to understand the physical, hormonal, neurological, psychological, metabolic, and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to changes in sexual health.

Our goal is to restore confidence, improve function, strengthen intimacy, and enhance overall well-being through personalized, evidence-informed care.

Understanding Sexual Wellness

Healthy sexual function depends upon the coordinated interaction of multiple body systems.

Hormones, cardiovascular health, nerve function, circulation, sleep quality, nutrition, stress, emotional health, medications, and relationship dynamics all influence sexual wellness.

Because so many factors contribute to sexual health, successful treatment often requires looking beyond a single laboratory value or prescription.

Our philosophy is simple:

The better we understand the whole person, the better we can care for concerns related to sexual wellness.

Conditions We Commonly Evaluate

Depending on your symptoms and medical history, evaluation may include concerns such as:

For Men

●      Erectile dysfunction

●      Decreased libido

●      Testosterone deficiency

●      Reduced energy

●      Difficulty building or maintaining muscle

●      Reduced exercise recovery

●      Changes in mood or motivation

●      Changes in sexual performance

For Women

●      Decreased libido

●      Hormonal changes associated with perimenopause and menopause

●      Vaginal dryness

●      Pain during intimacy

●      Difficulty achieving orgasm

●      Fatigue

●      Changes in mood

●      Reduced sexual satisfaction

Every evaluation begins with listening.

Your symptoms often provide the most important clues.

Our Comprehensive Approach

Treatment recommendations may include one or more of the following when medically appropriate:

●      Hormone optimization

●      Laboratory evaluation

●      Nutritional optimization

●      Weight management

●      Sleep optimization

●      Stress reduction

●      Exercise recommendations

●      Peptide therapy

●      Medication management

●      Referral to other specialists when appropriate

Our objective is not simply to improve sexual function.

Our objective is to improve overall health, recognizing that healthier people often experience healthier relationships and healthier intimacy.

Therapies We May Recommend

Depending upon your symptoms, medical history, laboratory evaluation, and treatment goals, your personalized treatment plan may include one or more of the following therapies.

Hormone Optimization

Individualized hormone therapy for both men and women may include testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, pregnenolone, hCG, enclomiphene, or other therapies when clinically appropriate to restore hormonal balance and improve overall well-being.

PDE-5 Inhibitors

Evidence-based medications such as sildenafil and tadalafil may improve erectile function in appropriately selected men by increasing blood flow and supporting normal physiologic response.

PT-141 (Bremelanotide)

Unlike medications that primarily improve blood flow, bremelanotide (PT-141) acts within the central nervous system by activating pathways involved in sexual desire and arousal.

For carefully selected men and women, it may help improve libido, sexual desire, and overall sexual responsiveness.

Oxytocin Therapy

Oxytocin is often referred to as the body's "bonding hormone."

Beyond its well-known role in childbirth and breastfeeding, oxytocin contributes to trust, emotional connection, intimacy, social bonding, and aspects of sexual function.

When clinically appropriate, oxytocin therapy may be considered as one component of a comprehensive treatment strategy designed to support emotional and relational well-being.

Vaginal Health Therapies

For women experiencing symptoms related to menopause or hormonal changes, treatment may include vaginal estrogen therapy and other individualized approaches designed to improve vaginal tissue health, lubrication, comfort, and sexual function.

Kisspeptin

Kisspeptin is a naturally occurring signaling molecule involved in reproductive hormone regulation, sexual desire, and emotional processing.

Emerging research suggests that kisspeptin may influence both the hormonal and neurological pathways involved in intimacy and sexual function. As scientific understanding continues to evolve, it may become an option for carefully selected patients.

Melanotan II

Although originally developed for other purposes, melanotan II has demonstrated effects on sexual desire and arousal in some individuals.

Because it carries potential risks and remains an evolving area of clinical practice, careful patient selection, informed consent, and ongoing physician supervision are essential.

Nandrolone

For carefully selected men, nandrolone may be considered as part of a broader hormone optimization strategy.

When medically appropriate, it may support body composition, joint comfort, recovery, and overall vitality while complementing individualized hormone therapy.

Treatment decisions are made cautiously and require ongoing monitoring to maximize safety.

Lifestyle & Metabolic Optimization

Healthy sexuality begins with healthy physiology.

Nutrition, resistance training, cardiovascular fitness, restorative sleep, stress management, weight management, and treatment of underlying metabolic disease often play a critical role in restoring sexual health.

In many patients, these foundational interventions provide benefits that extend far beyond intimacy alone.

Why Sexual Wellness Matters

Sexual wellness is about far more than sexual performance.

Changes in sexual function may serve as an early indicator of cardiovascular disease, metabolic dysfunction, hormonal imbalance, neurological disorders, medication side effects, or other underlying medical conditions.

Addressing these concerns often creates an opportunity to improve overall health—not simply intimacy.

For that reason, we believe sexual wellness deserves the same thoughtful medical attention as every other aspect of health.

Your Treatment Plan Is Unique

No two patients have identical goals, relationships, medical histories, or expectations.

Treatment recommendations are based upon your symptoms, physical examination, laboratory findings when appropriate, medical history, medications, lifestyle, and personal goals.

Some patients seek relief from a specific symptom.

Others hope to restore confidence, strengthen intimacy, improve vitality, or simply feel more like themselves again.

Every treatment plan is individualized to reflect what matters most to you.

Our Commitment to Respect, Privacy, and Compassion

We understand that conversations regarding sexual health can feel deeply personal.

Our goal is to create a safe, respectful environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and participating in decisions regarding their care.

These conversations are always handled with professionalism, discretion, compassion, and respect.

No concern is too small.

No question is inappropriate.

Looking Beyond Symptoms

Healthy sexuality reflects healthy physiology—but it also reflects emotional well-being, meaningful relationships, self-confidence, and overall vitality.

Our philosophy is not centered on helping patients simply perform better.

It is centered on helping patients live healthier, more connected, and more fulfilling lives.

Because sexual wellness is not separate from health.

It is one expression of it.

Our Philosophy of Care

Our philosophy is not to begin with the newest therapy.

It is to begin with the therapy that best fits the individual sitting in front of us.

Sometimes that is a lifestyle intervention.

Sometimes it is a medication that has been used safely for decades.

Other times it may involve newer therapies supported by emerging scientific evidence.

Our commitment is to thoughtful, individualized care—not one-size-fits-all medicine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Common Questions About Your Care

We understand that choosing a new physician is an important decision. Below are answers to some of the questions we hear most often. If you don't find the information you're looking for, we're always happy to discuss your individual circumstances.

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?

Direct Primary Care is a membership-based model that allows you to work directly with your physician without many of the administrative barriers associated with traditional insurance-based practices.

Your membership provides enhanced access, longer appointments, personalized care, and a stronger physician-patient relationship.

Do you accept health insurance?

Our medical practice operates on a Direct Primary Care membership model rather than billing insurance for office visits.

However, patients may use their health insurance for services outside our clinic when appropriate, including laboratory testing, imaging studies, specialist consultations, hospital care, and many prescription medications.

Can I still use my insurance?

Yes.

Many patients continue to carry health insurance for unexpected medical expenses while enjoying the benefits of Direct Primary Care for their routine and preventive healthcare.

These approaches often complement one another.

Do you offer telemedicine?

Yes.

Telemedicine appointments are available for many medical concerns when clinically appropriate.

Some conditions, however, require an in-person examination to provide the safest and most effective care.

How often will I see my physician?

There is no predetermined number of visits.

Some patients benefit from frequent follow-up during the early stages of treatment, while others require only periodic visits.

Your care plan will be individualized according to your medical needs and health goals.

How do I know if I am a candidate for hormone therapy, peptides, ketamine therapy, or IV therapy?

Every recommendation begins with a comprehensive medical evaluation.

Rather than matching patients to treatments, we evaluate your symptoms, medical history, physical examination, laboratory findings, and goals before determining whether a therapy is appropriate.

Sometimes the best recommendation is not to begin treatment.

Are compounded medications FDA approved?

Compounded medications are prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies to meet the unique needs of individual patients.

Although compounded medications themselves are not reviewed or approved by the FDA in the same manner as commercially manufactured medications, reputable compounding pharmacies operate under state and federal regulatory standards designed to promote quality and safety.

When compounded medications are recommended, we will discuss the rationale, potential benefits, and any relevant considerations with you.

Are peptides legal?

Many peptide therapies may be legally prescribed by licensed physicians when clinically appropriate.

The availability and regulatory status of individual peptides continue to evolve.

Our practice offers only therapies that we believe are appropriate within the current regulatory environment and supported by thoughtful clinical judgment.

Are newer therapies safe?

Every medical treatment involves both potential benefits and potential risks.

Some therapies have decades of clinical experience, while others continue to be studied.

Our responsibility is to help you understand the available evidence, discuss reasonable expectations, and recommend treatments only when we believe the anticipated benefits outweigh the potential risks.

Will I need laboratory testing?

Not every patient requires extensive laboratory evaluation.

Testing is recommended when it provides meaningful information that helps guide diagnosis, treatment decisions, or ongoing monitoring.

Our goal is to order the right tests—not simply more tests.

How quickly will I notice results?

Every patient responds differently.

Some therapies, such as ketamine treatment, may begin producing noticeable improvements within hours to several days for some individuals.

Others, including hormone optimization, nutritional interventions, or lifestyle modifications, often require several weeks or months before their full benefits become apparent.

Our focus is on achieving meaningful, sustainable improvements rather than temporary results.

Do you prescribe medications for everyone?

No.

Medication is only one of many tools available to improve health.

Lifestyle modification, nutrition, exercise, sleep optimization, stress management, education, and preventive care often play equally important roles.

Sometimes the best medical recommendation is not a prescription.

Can I continue seeing my specialists?

Absolutely.

We believe excellent healthcare is collaborative.

When appropriate, we work alongside specialists and other healthcare professionals to help coordinate your care.

What if I need hospitalization or emergency care?

Direct Primary Care is not a substitute for emergency medical services.

If you experience a medical emergency, you should call 911 or seek emergency medical care immediately.

We will gladly participate in your ongoing care after the emergency has been addressed.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

If you have a high deductible insurance plan, starting in 2026 you can now use your health savings account to pay for up to $150 a month that can go towards a direct primary care payment.

Will I always see the same physician?

Yes.

One of the greatest advantages of Direct Primary Care is continuity.

Our goal is to build a lasting relationship in which your physician knows you—not simply your medical record.
